The Society of St. Vincent de Paul

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul cares for the less fortunate in our community by, for example, preventing utility cut-offs and evictions by helping those in dire circumstances to pay part of their rent or utility bills.  This organization concentrates on helping the needy who are not adequately served by existing aid or organizations.  Parishioners who are interested in learning more about the Society and how they might become involved in its activities are welcome to attend one of the regular meetings which are held on the first Tuesday of each month in the Chapter Room at St. Thomas More Parish at 7 pm.  This is a Tri-Parish group involving St. Agnes, St. Anthony, and St. Thomas More.

Edmonton Do Likewise Society (EDLS)

The Parish supports in a special way the EDLS  which seeks to help the many underemployed, unemployed, and homeless men, women, and families in Edmonton.

 Pastoral Care (Ministry to Sick/Elderly/Shut-Ins)

Visiting and bringing communion to the sick and elderly in the hospital, care center, or at home is at the heart of this ministry.  Volunteers in this ministry also lead liturgies at various care facilities and hospitals.  Communion to the sick is one of the earliest ministries developed within the Church to maintain the bonds of communion amongst all of its members.  Training is provided.
